World Prematurity Awareness Day
Thursday 17th November 2011 marks the 1st annual World Prematurity Awareness Day, when parents, families, parents’ groups and activists will come together globally to raise awareness about prematurity and highlight all the problems associated with it.
WPAD is a global development of International Premature Awareness Day which was established in 2009. The day falls 3 days before the UN Day of the Child. World Prematurity Awareness Day is organised by a consortium of bodies: the European Foundation for the Care of Newborn Infants, the March of Dimes, Africa’s Little Big Souls International Foundation and Australia’s National Premmie Foundation.
