"From Day One" - New campaign from Parentline
Parentline is a free telephone support service for parents ofchildren of all ages and it provides support, information,guidance and a listening ear to allparents.
Parentline volunteers are trained incounseling and listening skills and theyunderstands that sometimes the best help a new Mum or Dad can get is simply to talk and be heard with understanding, compassion and care.
To celebrate 25 years of offering practical help and guidanceto countless thousands of callers, Parentline has launched a new "back to basics" initiative, From Day One, to target new parents with the message that the role of parenting starts at or before birth and that careful preparation for the arrival of a new baby will yield significant rewards.
From Day One will include volunteers from Parentline visiting maternity hospitals and participating in lunch-and-learn sessions with staff, which will offer them the opportunity to learn more about Parentline's services. In addition, educational material will be distributed within the hospitals about Parentline.
Parentline's lines are open at the following times to parents and they welcome calls on any parenting issue:
Monday - Thursday 10 a.m. - 9. 30 p.m.
Friday 10 a.m. - 4.30 p.m.
